I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sue and I have been the library director here at Brigham City Library since 1991. I worked at the Utah State Library Division for 13 years before coming here. My hobbies are reading, listening to audio books in my car as I drive, quilting, cross stitch and card making. I have some wonderful daughters, a great husband who teaches science at Adele C. Young, and several cats. The audio book I am listening to today is "The Professor and the Madman by Simon Winchester. It is the book we have chosen to discuss on March 1st at the Library. Dr. Jan Frost, University of Utah, will be leading the discussion. The subtitle is "A tale of murder, insanity, and the making of the Oxford English Dictionary." My friend Sarah had a copy and she lent it to me. Although we have about 3000 books on compact disc, cassette, mp3, and downloadable from the Library Internet homepage....this is not one of them. The book itself can be checked out from the library whether you have a library card or not. The Oxford English Dictionary used 1,827,306 quotations to help define its 414,825 words. Tens of thousands of those used in the first edition came from the erudite, moneyed American Civil War veteran Dr. W.C. Minor; all from a cell at the Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum. Everyone is invited to come and discuss this wonderful book with Dr. Jan Frost on Thursday, March 1st at 7 p.m.

Cute picture my friend.
Sue, the discussion group is going on now and I won't be able to attend. I would like to get the book for next month at another time. Is that possible?
