I always like to share my daily finds from the Ogden Standard, so today I see that author Kurt Vonnegut died at the age of 84. He was a satirical novelist who wrote 19 novels including "Slaughterhouse-Five" and "Cats Cradle". He was a self-described religious skeptic and freethinking humanist who used his novel's characters as transparent vehicles for his points of view.
And, on the local front - did you see that Rees Pioneer Park is going to get a new lighted and fenced outdoor basketball/volleyball court thanks to the family of longtime Brigham City resident Carl Wadman. The family donated $100,000 in memory of their father to build the court. Construction begins in May west of the north parking lot.
