Who is the most memorable father you have met in a book?

Yesterday was Father's Day, I spent the day flying back from Knoxville with my husband. My Dad, who is 89 and a wonderful father was at home in Brigham City. I would like to ask you to think about some of the fathers you have met while reading. Whether it was from Dickens, Shakespeare, or something more contemporary there are many to choose from. Who among them sticks out as the most memorable? Some searching through the list of fiction books about fathers from our catalog let me to recall Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Now there was a good father, I think he wins out as a stellar example of fatherhood. What about the children's book "Ramona and her Father" by Beverly Cleary or "Fatherhood" by Bill Cosby? What do you think? Please share your comments below.
