18th Annual

Timpanogos Storytelling Festival

August 30-September 1, 2007

For those who have not had the opportunity to go to this great event, I encourage you to think about taking some time out and going to enjoy some of the best storytelling anywhere!

The festival has national story tellers, regional story tellers and even winners of the kids storytelling contest that elementary schools from all over Utah participate in. They also have workshops, puppet shows, live music, and pottery featured between sessions of storytelling. Great food can be bought from local resturants in the vendors area.

Most events are held at the Mt. Timpanogos park in Orem, Utah. Evening events are held at the Scera Shell. For details go to http://www.timpfest.org/ This event is sponsored by the Orem library. Plan to go to the evening events, they are worth the extra cost, but show up early to get a good seat.

I took my teens two years ago and they weren't so sure about it before the event but they really enjoyed it once we got there and they saw how much fun it was. This makes a great weekend getaway for a family with children ages 8-17.
