Algernon Graeves has decided, have you?

Halloween books are always fun to get into with kids and there are so many really cute stories. Over the last couple of week I've been starting to read some Halloween books at my house and so far Algernon Graeves is Scary Enough has been the winner. I must have read it nearly twenty-five times to my two youngest nephews. The story is about a boy, Algernon - I love that name, who is in his attic trying to decide what to be for Halloween. He goes through several very scary options until he finds the scariest costume he can find. The illustrations are really nice and the story is just fun. But be warned, this book may create some very scary monsters at your house - it did at mine.

What scary monsters do you have lurking at your house this Halloween? Are there any stories that inspired them? Share some of your favorite Halloween stories with others by posting a comment. (Don't forget to let us know the title AND the author so everyone can have fun reading your favorites too!)

My Favorite Halloween book is "The Little old Lady who was not Afraid of Anything". It is an add on story that is fun to read aloud and the kids can do the actions in each part of the story.

I've always loved "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving.
