Get Ready for Halloween
by Michele, Children's Librarian

We usually try to dress up at the library each year for the spooky day. I've been racking my brain for a costume that is both easy[read- no effort] and clever.

We have a few costume books including the new title, The Dress-up Book, by Jane Bull, published by DK. It includes 50 incredible, easy-to-make costumes. My personal favorite is the Alien, which requires nothing more than a black hoodie sweatshirt, a green balloon and a black marker. It includes instructions for wings and capes, two of the most common costume requirements.

If you need even more ideas try the website for one of our favorite magazines, FamilyFun. http://familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts/season/specialfeature/halloween_ms_costumes/ . They have a special issue each year that includes costume ideas and their web page has a list of the best, instructions are included.
Have a happy and safe Halloween! Come in and visit us in your costume. :)
