JOIN THE CIRCLE OF KNOWLEDGE AT BRIGHAM CITY LIBRARY
NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
APRIL 13TH TO APRIL 19TH
National Library Week will be observed April 13-19, 2008 with the theme, "Join the circle of knowledge @ your library®."
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.
Brigham City will be celebrating this week by giving magnets inviting patrons to "Join the circle of knowledge @ your library" that have library information, hours, website, and important phone numbers. Come in and recieve yours next week.
Brigham City Library has over 62,000 items that circulated 255,000 times last year. Books, dvds, computer programs on cd-rom and books on cd and downloadable mp3's were part of this circulation. We had over 177,000 library visits, 38,000 reference transactions and 13,000 registered borrowers. We sponsored over 300 library programs for adults and children, which over 6000 patrons attended. These programs included summer reading, mom and me, business programs about starting a business, gardening programs, a national exhibit on Abraham Lincoln, and reading discussion groups for adults and children. Over 23,000 patrons used the intrnet at the library and over 75,000 patrons accessed our webpage. Come join the circle of knowledge at Brigham City Library.
