The Thirteenth Tale

This is one of those books I couldn't wait to tell people about! I hadn't read anything about it and just pulled it off the shelf to read. One of the times I was judging the book by the cover because it enticed me. I was instantly drawn in and couldn't put the book down. The chapters are quick and each leaves you wondering what the next will reveal. I kept trying to figure out what other books this one reminded me of. The author, Diane Setterfield, specializes in twentieth-century French literature and lives in England so she throws a lot of book titles into the story and she seems to know her Jane Eyre. Its a ghostly tale of twins and just when you think you've figured out who is who, the plot changes. The narrator is called to do the biography of a woman who has never told the truth about herself and you wonder throughout the whole story, if this is just another tale or, in fact, the truth. There's an interesting little website at http://www.thethirteenthtale.com/
