From My Point of View -- Book Review

Last week I finished The Window by Jeanette Ingold. It's a YA novel about a teenage girl who moves to Texas to live with her new found relatives - the only relations she has after her mother was killed in the same car accident that left her blind.

All her life, her mother has been the only family Mandy has known. When she suddenly has to move in with her great uncles and her great aunt, Mandy not only has to learn to adjust to the world of darkness around her, but she must also come to terms with what she's always thought about her family history. Mandy's helped by her grandmother and a special connection she discovers with her ancestor. As Mandy discovers a sight that links her with the past, she learns about her family, learns about love and learns to live.

The Window is a great read, and it's quick. Ingold takes you right into the lives of her characters. You come to care for them and the people around them as you experience their world.

My initial interest in Jeanette Ingold's writing started when I heard her speak at I conference I attended last June. She talked about her writing and writing in general. Wow, was she an inspiring speaker! Her passion for writing really showed.

She has several other books out. I plan on getting to them in the near future. I hope you'll give her books a try too.
