Yes, it's true, the candy machine in the entry is gone. You may or may not miss it. We don't. It might have been a hassle for you, too, as you came in and had to tell your children that they could not have candy today for one reason or another. If the candy machine sat there silently in the entry way making no comments and leaking no candy onto the floor, we might have been sorry to see it go. As it was, young people found that by shaking and banging the machine, they could get free candy. Apparently, they thought we couldn't hear all that noise in the library. It became a constant struggle for the clerks to deal with the situation. I don't suppose the cleaning people miss the candy machines either since there were always little pieces of candy on the floor all over the library. So, if you are coming to the library these days for candy, I'm sorry, you'll be sorely disappointed. (How about getting a book instead?)
