We've always had a standing order for local telephone books and for a few out-of-state directories that we can get free of charge. This seems to be the time of year that the new directories are coming in so we're getting a shelf full of telephone books here even though the old ones are still over in storage at the academy. I am wondering how many people use the telephone directories anymore - or does everyone use their computer? Directories are nice to scan the yellow pages, state and local government phone numbers, they have lots of local street maps, and good information in the front, but are they taking up room we need for something else? Should we continue to stock these telephone books? What do you think?

I think that yellow pages online is faster and easier. That being said, some older folks don't do computers so...you may have to continue the books for a few more years.
