Pages

We have two staff positions at our library called "pages" - I wonder how that title came about?? We have books and we have "pages". I guess that is something I need to do some research to find out. Anyhow, that's off my original line of thought. We are losing our two pages, one this week and one next month. Mary and Morgan have been great friends and employees and we will be very sad to see them go. Their jobs are very important to the library and it is hard to function without them.

All those books you return to the library have to be put away and guess who gets to do that? The pages! They come four days a week for 2 hours and 3 hours on Mondays because we have collected more books over the weekend. They are each assigned three carts in different areas of the library and they are responsible for putting all the items from those carts away and in the right place so you can find them later. A page has to be very efficient at alphabetizing and putting numbers in order. They also have to make sure every thing is picked up in their area and things look neat when they leave. That can be a big chore after story hour when every book on the shelf is falling over, puzzles pieces are all over the floor, paper is wadded up and stuffed everywhere. You might give a thought to these girls when you put a book back in the wrong place or leave them lying on the floor.
We hope to have new pages hired before Morgan has to leave. She will be doing all the shelving for a few weeks until we can get new pages hired. If you are interested in this position, please apply at job service by August 2nd.

Susan
