Summer Reading is Coming!

It seems strange that Summer Reading is coming on June 7th since it hasn't even felt like spring yet! The theme for this year is One World, Many Stories which will be a great chance to explore cultures from around the globe.

Registration, as always promises to be a bit crazy with our limited space in our Storytime classes. Last year the mom's started showing up about an hour before we opened to stand in line and get a spot for their child. We will have 145 spots in our classes this summer which will include the Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. class for 3-6 year olds and a class at the same time for the 7-9 year olds. We will have the same schedule for Wednesdays.

To kick off the summer we will be hosting a Read-a-Thon event on June 6th. That night families can come in and read from 7-8 p.m. We will serve popcorn and drinks and have some prize drawings. This event is free and everyone is invited to spend a fun night at the library.

If you are planning on signing up for our popular Read-at-Home program you can register early on the night of the Read-a-Thon, so plan to bring your $1.00 registration fee. Sorry, for Storytime classes you can't register early.

Help your kids read and have this summer, join summer reading!
