Its over... Disc seven, the last disc from the book-on-cd by Alexander McCall Smith, "The Good Husband of Zebra Drive", and I don't want it to be over. I so enjoyed my time, once again, with Mma Ramotswe and her assistant, Mma Makutsi. They are so down-to-earth, Mma Ramotswe being a "traditionally sized" woman and proud of it. We learn so much about Botswana - the weather, the land, the people and their traditions. Plus, there is always a mystery or two or three to be solved by Mma Ramotswe's attention to detail and good common sense. I especially love to listen to Lisette LeCat read the book. She has a beautiful voice with a French inflection you can just imagine the characters speaking. I read one of the books in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series and then listened to a book-on-cd and was hooked by Lisette. I've listened to the whole series on cd now.You can imagine the characters in your mind as she reads, and it's nice to have the right pronunciation for the difficult African names. I'm sorry to see it over and hope it won't be long until Mma Ramostwe is back with another small mystery.
