Each year, a librarian from Brigham City Library goes to Book Expo America. This year I attended. And if you have very good eyes you will see me at the front of this huge crowd waiting for the trade show to open on Friday, June 1st, at 9 a.m. I had been there since early in the morning to get tickets to be allowed in line to get autographed books of the famous authors who were attending the expo. I got to meet Ken Burns and hear about his new PBS ser
ies on "The War" which will be on PBS this fall. I got to see the books that will be coming out this fall and those that the publishers think will be award winners. The publishers even give away these books and after carrying 400 pounds of these "free books" to shipping, I really wish they had not given away so many titles or that my husband Steven would have gone with me this year to help tote and carry. He wanted to stay at Adele C. Young Intermediate School to say goodbye to his science students. This was the first year he did not go with me and I missed his help. The books are in the hands of the shippers and will be coming and will be cataloged and ready to check out soon.
