October is National Book Month

We are urging Americans to pick up a good book and read during October – and, of course, throughout the year.
This year’s National Book Month poster, created by Bob Mankoff, cartoon editor of The New Yorker, features Lady Liberty reading from a book with the phrase “Read, America!” carved into the base of the statue. The poster’s other message is “Pledge Allegiance to Knowledge.”
The poster will be distributed at the National Book Foundation booth at New York is Book Country and at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. In addition, the “Read, America!” cartoon will run in October as a free ad placed by many newspapers and magazines on behalf of the National Book Foundation.
What are you reading in October?
