New Year's Resolutions

Trying to think of something to write about this snowy Wednesday evening that might appeal to people just before we head into another wintry holiday. We're brainstorming to get ideas for the book display by the front desk and wondering what might appeal to readers heading into the new year. Most people want to start the year off with a clean slate and a list of things they're going to do better this year. With that in mind, we're thinking of getting some of the self-help, diet, and exercise books from storage at the dance academy and putting them within easier reach.

So what are the top 10 resolutions that most people make for the New Year? About.com says these are the top 10:

1. Spend more time with family

2. Fit in Fitness

3. Tame the bulge

4. Quit Smoking

5. Enjoy life more

6. Quit drinking

7. Get out of debt

8. Learn something new

9. Help others

10. Get organized

Sad to say, Wikipedia says while 52% of resolution makers are confident they will succeed, only 12% actually achieve their goals.
USA.gov at http://www.usa.gov/Citizen/Topics/New_Years_Resolutions.shtml has a list of links that just might lead you to information that will help you keep your resolution this year.
