Women's Health Week

This week (May 8-14th) is National Women's Health week. Did you know that women should get at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, 1 hour and 15 minutes of vigorous physical activity, or a combination of both each week? You can join the President's Active Lifestyle challenge at http://www.womenshealth.gov/whw/woman-challenge/ to get yourself motivated. All it takes is an almost daily commitment to physical activity for 6 out of 8 weeks. Stick with the program and you can earn an award in less than two months.

If you want to get yourself out and moving, you might also want to try the American Heart Association site http://www.startwalkingnow.org/home.jsp that will help you find walking paths or let you create your own route. This site will let you register so you can keep track of the distances you've walked. You could also try http://www.favoriterun.com/ that lets you map your favorite run and use a personal activity log.

We will be starting a series of weight loss classes next Wednesday evening that might also get you going. The classes are FREE and will run from 6-7 pm for adults and 4-5 pm for teens. This series will last for 10 weeks.
