Canning Series

Tonight we have a great crowd at our "Freezing Fruits and Vegetables" class. You are missing out if you aren't here.  Ann Henderson, our local extension agent, has a great following of people who attend her classes. She presents a lot of fun and interesting facts everybody needs to know when they are putting up their summer produce. Sometimes, she even shares samples - one class received jam before they left.

If you are feeling badly because you missed this one, you've got one more chance. Ann is going to teach a class about preparing salsa on August 10th at 7 p.m.  This should be one "hot" class; come and find out for yourself.

Canning and freezing classes

Join us for a “Freezing Fruits and Vegetables” class Wednesday, August 3rd at 7 p.m. This class is taught by Ann Henderson of the USU Extension Office. Freezing is a great way to preserve fruits and vegetables for the winter ahead. Learn the basics of freezing a variety of fruits and vegetables, including basic preparation, packaging materials, and freezer selection and management.

The Library will also host “Preserving Tomatoes and Salsa” next week on Wednesday, August 10th at 7 p.m. Salsa and tomatoes are two of the most popular products preserved at home. Learn how to prepare them, and sample some of the current recipes to see which ones you like best.
