United We Serve
At the end of June I posted an article (see June's article on volunteering) about serve.gov, a new website that's been set up as a place anyone in the country can go to find volunteer opportunities in their communities. In June I reported that there were no listings for our area. Now, just over a month later, there are seven pages of opportunities listed for the 84302 zip code. How cool is that!
President Obama has been encouraging volunteering in America and September 11th has been made a national day of service and remembrance. Serve.gov now gives all of us a great place to start whenever you're looking for a volunteer position in the community.
Thanks again to all of the citizens who volunteer in our community and make Brigham City a better place.
